Hummingbird Décor Brightens Treasure Coast Gardens
and Gives Back to the
Center for Memory and Movement of Indian River County
The Indian River County Garden Club’s Gardenfest 2026 at Riverside Park became even more vibrant with the addition of hummingbird garden décor, purchased through donations that raised thousands of dollars for the Alzheimer’s and Parkinson Association—now known as the Center for Memory and Movement.
Inspired by Hummingbird Care Services CEO Colby Bechtold, Gardenfest participants were delighted to take part in such a meaningful cause. With small donations, attendees received beautiful, twirling hummingbird décor while contributing to an important mission.
In just two days, more than $2,500 was raised. A check presentation was made to Executive Director Peggy Cunningham and her team at the Center for Memory and Movement by CEO Bechtold, surrounded by additional team members.
This effort also highlights the continued collaboration between Hummingbird Care Services and the Center for Memory and Movement, including participation in Spark the Night, the national World Parkinson’s Awareness initiative. Taking place on April 11, 2026, the event encourages the community to shine signature blue lights in support of Parkinson’s awareness.
As writer and artist Mary Anne Radmacher said, “As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.” Together, Hummingbird Care Services and the Center for Memory and Movement encourage the community to Spark the Night throughout the month of April.
